Is the individual to blame when the system they reside within makes it difficult or impossible to act? Perhaps. Perhaps not. There is a point where personal accountability comes into play — where every individual has the responsibility for doing what is morally right and ethically sound… but that personal responsibility becomes confused when a society as a whole is confused about its leading ethics and morality.
