Wanted for the Blacklist
“Known Copylefters, Mr. Salmon. Dangerous people who don’t believe in, or respect, Corporate rights.”
“Mr. Salmon,” says Agent Graham. “We wouldn’t be here if we didn’t have credible information to back us up. But we’re not interested in you.”
I glanced up. Could he see how frightened I was? I’d been trying so hard to keep it in.
“We just need names, Mr. Salmon.”
“Names?”
“Friends, family… whomever you feel has violated the Blacklist. Known Copylefters, Mr. Salmon. Dangerous people who don’t believe in, or respect, Corporate accumulation rights.”
“But… but I don’t know anyone like that!”
“Ah, but Mr. Salmon… you’re a known affiliate with an extremist organization already.” He reaches into his pocket and holds something out.
“But, that’s just my library card!”
He smiles. “That’s where all the dissidents get their start.”
